Burj project - the door to the world of huge rocket science
AUTHOR: Aida Muravieva
Abstract
The Burj project is a launch vehicle for low altitudes and delivery of small celestial vehicles like Cansat weighing up to 350 g to a height of 1 km, with a launch thrust of 600 N * s. A single-stage rocket with a total height of 140 cm will be able to deliver such objects to a height of 1 km, while having a low cost and high speed, the payload can be delivered to the apogee point in 12 seconds. The rocket is reusable, as it has its own onboard electronics and a rescue system, which is a parachute of 2 sizes, one is exhaust, and the other is main. The main materials for assembling the rocket are fiberglass, from which the rocket body is made, ABS or PLA plastic, from which such elements of the rocket as the head fairing, fins, as well as a number of on-board computer parts, in particular brackets and containers, will be made using the FDM 3D method. print. The power plant of the rocket consists of two RD1-300-0 engines, with an average thrust of 180 N each. The project is able to solve the problem of supplying probes and scientific stations to low altitudes, again, such as Cansat. It is expected that a reusable rocket can be ready for launch in half an hour since the only important actions before launch are checking the electronics of the rocket, installing it on the launch pad, and preparing the igniters for launch.
Rocket Dimensions:
140 cm high
79 mm in diameter
average diameter including fins - 114 mm
starting weight: 2945 grams
The rocket was created taking into account the requirement of the Cansat competition from the European Space Agency, namely the requirements for the rocket. Rocket tests are carried out in 5 stages, namely:
checking the rescue system of the model "107"
checking the rescue system of the model "111"
checking the engine start system and engine compartment
checking the stability of the rocket by the area method
rocket test launch
In total, the costs of materials, testing, assembling the rocket, and bringing it to a serial sample
are estimated at 1 million 300 thousand tenge
